Keep the lights on

We spend a portion of every day investigating new ways to make homes safer and more comfortable for residents, and particularly seniors aging in place. The opportunities are endless, but we can’t have too many great ideas in the design toolbox when opportunities arise.

Poor planning is the demise of more aging in place aspirations than any other cause, but for those with the foresight to plan ahead, a backup generator is an excellent idea. Seniors and the disabled are at higher risk of isolation than any other sector of society and stand to benefit most from having a backup generator installed, in the event of a power failure.

So if you’re wondering what to get your parents for their next Birthday or holiday, consider buying them a backup generator.  Read more here.. http://aginginplace.com/aging-place-disasters-story-behind-story/

If you need help sourcing a backup generator or electrician, give us a call and we’ll gladly point you in the right direction. Note: generators are not DIY installations – hire a licensed professional.
